Passages Supporting a 6000-Year Earth and a Millennial Reign of Christ

1. One thousand years = One dayGen. 2:17 reads, “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Adam died when he was 930 years old, so God's word was held true, for Adam died in the day that he did eat.
Psalm 90:4 reads, “For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.”
II Peter 3:8 reads, “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
2. Church Age = 2 days or 2000 years ???
John 2:1 reads, “On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee ...” which infers that there was two days prior to this day. This reminds us of the heavenly wedding that the church is going to experience when the bridegroom, Jesus Christ, takes the church for His bride. The two days prior to the third day is the 2000 years of the church age. [See Jewish Wedding below for details.]
John 4:43 reads, “Now after the two days He (Jesus) departed from there (Samaria) and went to Galilee.” Jesus spent two days with the Samaritans, a Gentile nation, which received Him and His teachings. So, also He has spent 2000 years with the Gentile nations, saving them and witnessing to them.
Luke 13:32 reads, "And He (Jesus) said to them, Go, tell that fox (Herod), 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.'" Jesus prophesied that there will be 2000 years between His First Coming and His Second Coming.
Hosea 6:2 reads, “After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us (Israel) up, That we may live in His sight.” After 2 days or 2000 years the Lord will raise up Israel and restore them that they may live with Him. As Rom. 11:25b reads, after “the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.”
Lazarus' Resurrection ---
John 11:6 reads, “So when He (Jesus) heard that he (Lazarus) was sick, He stayed two more days in the place He was.” The hidden message is that Jesus will raise up the Jews (Zech. 12:10) after 2 days or 2000 years.
3. This Age = 6 days or 6000 years ???
Mount of Transfiguration ---
Matt. 17:1 reads, “Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, brought them up on a high mountain by themselves.”
Mark 9:2 reads, “Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them.” After 6000 years Jesus will make Himself seen by the entire resurrected Christian body.
Luke 9:28 reads, “And it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray.”
In the previous verse of Luke it reads, “But I (Jesus) tell you truly, there are some standing here (meaning Peter, John, and James) who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:27) A similar saying can be found in the preceding verse of the other two Gospels.
4. Marriage and Wedding Banquets
Jacob's Marriages
Jacob asked Laban if he could marry his daughter, Rachel. Laban agreed if Jacob would work for him for seven years. Jacob agreed to work for Laban seven years. After seven years Jacob and Rachel were to consummate their marriage. Laban tricked Jacob by giving him Leah, Rachel's older sister, instead of Rachel. In the morning when Jacob found out he was livid. Laban told Jacob that in his country the older daughter must marry first, and if Jacob would agree to work for him another seven years he would give him Rachel for his wife once Jacob had fulfilled his seven-day honeymoon with Leah. Jacob agreed. So Jacob married two sisters in a weeks time. The marriages of Jacob is recorded in Genesis 29.
Jacob's marriage is a type of Christ's marriage to the Church (Jacob's marriage to Leah) and to the nation Israel (Jacob's marriage to Rachel, the one he loved the most). I believe Christ will consummate the marriage to the Church seven years before he consummates the marriage to the nation Israel.Jesus’ parable of the Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant
Luke 12:35-40 reads, “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
In verse 35, the servants are warned to be ready to eat (having your waist be girded) and with faith (your lamps burning). In verse 36 the servants are to watch and wait for their Lord for when He returns from the wedding, He will knock and they should open the door immediately. In verse 37, the Lord will gird Himself (preparing to eat) and have the servants sit down to eat and the Lord will serve them.
In these verses our Lord has been to a wedding. I believe the wedding is our wedding - Christ and the Church.
And I believe we will have the wedding ceremony when we are raptured. In the rapture, the saved people will be taken and the unsaved will be left as stated in the parable about ten virgins.
The fact that not all of the people were taken in the rapture would support the doctrine of millennialism.
5. Jewish Festivals
The Jews were commanded by God to celebrate seven feasts every year. These seven feasts are held at three different times throughout the year - early spring, late spring, and early fall. (See Lev. 23)
Early spring -
Late spring -
Late summer -
.1) Passover
2) Feast of Unleavened Bread
3) Feast of Firstfruits
4) Feast of Weeks or Pentecost
5) Feast of Trumpets
6) Day of Atonement
7) Feast of Tabernacles14th day of the first month (Nisan)
15th thru the 21st day of the first month
day after first Sabbath during Passover
49th day after Feast of Firstfruits
first day of the seventh month (Tishri)
tenth day of the seventh month
15th thru 22nd day of the seventh monthJesus validated the first four feasts (Col. 2:16-17) during His First Coming by His dying and rising, and by sending the Holy Spirit to establish His Church on earth.
Will He validate the last three feasts during His Second Coming?
I believe He will. If He does validate these three feasts it will take at least 22 days to accomplish this, and it will not be over in one big flash.
The Feast of Firstfruits (Lev. 23:14), the Feast of Weeks (Lev. 23:21), the Day of Atonement (Lev. 23:31), and the Feast of Tabernacles (Lev. 23:41) are to be observed forever.
